BATTLE FOR JUSTICE: NMB Municipality liable for toddler’s drowning in stormwater drain that took eight years to fix

It took the Nelson Mandela Bay metro eight years to fix an open stormwater drain in Greenfields, Kariega, that in 2014 caused the drowning of a 17-month-old girl. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court of Appeal ruled that the metro must pay damages to the family of the toddler.
